Some sheet sets also include a bed skirt that is used to cover the box spring of your mattress. There are many different materials that sheets are made out of such as satin, silk, and polyester. The most popular and practical material for sheets is cotton. Most sheets are made out of one hundred percent combed cotton that has been pre-shrunk to fit your bed. Some lower priced Sheet Sets are made out of a blend of polyester and cotton.


Fitted Sheets
Fitted sheets are what go between you and your mattress. For this reason, the fitted sheets you choose are a very important part of your bedding. The skin on your body and on your face will probably have the most contact with your fitted sheet than any other part of your bedding. You want to be sure that you are not allergic to the fabric you choose; that it's not too rough or too soft.

If you have an extra large or extra deep mattress, you should consider purchasing specially sized fitted sheets. There are many new sizes of mattresses on the market these days. There is an extra long twin size bed that requires extra long sheets to fit over it.
